Advanced Photography Programme
In the Advanced Programme, the focus is placed on the individual’s creative, conceptual and professional development and personal photographic vision. Specialist skills are introduced at this level, in addition to which students will embark on a series of independent self-motivated projects. Students also select options from a programme of advanced interventions, these are short, intense programmes with defined outcomes – such as the production of a portfolio, publication or exhibition. These advanced interventions are designed to provide learners with specific skills, experience and access to the professional worlds of photography.
The Advanced Programme focuses on commercial as well as fine art photography, allowing the student to build up a professional portfolio. The course includes multimedia, community engagement, and entrepreneurial skills. Furthermore, Advanced students are placed in internships where they receive industry experience, and create a public project that focuses on curatorial practice as well as engagement on a particular social issue within a specific community.
