Engaging to visitors as it is, the collection serves no practical purpose in its host department. Representative of a practice (oology) no longer deemed scientific or ethical and thus outside of the current research scope of the department (speaking to its history rather than its present), it is invisible to the resident students, lecturers and researchers.
