DBL: Exhibition Histories

The selection of objects featured below were all displayed as part of the Miscast exhibition, staged in 1996, at the Iziko National Gallery. The exhibition used the Bleek and Lloyd archival materials to provoke a series of responses in visitors (students, the general public, and academics) to the challenges that past practices present in the present. The curators encouraged this through various displays and strategies. By choosing one of these objects, and clicking on it, you will embark on a walkabout of the UCT upper campus. This walkabout borrows from the strategies first formulated by these curators, adding a few of its own.
